　　Filming has begun on the fourth series of popular Bath-based detective drama McDonald & Dodds, starring Tala Gouveia and BAFTA award-winner Jason Watkins.
　　
　　Comprising three feature length films (3 x120), the guest cast for the first story includes Toby Stephens (Lost In Space), singer/songwriter Pixie Lott (The Voice Kids), Lydia Leonard (Gentleman Jack), Daniel Lapaine (Catastrophe), Dipo Ola (Landscapers), John Gordon Sinclair (Gregory’s Girl) and Ace Bhatti (Line of Duty).
　　
　　In this first film, McDonald and Dodds begin to investigate when a middle-aged woman is found shot dead in a rented flat. The killer has removed all clues to her identity, but DNA reveals she went missing over 35 years ago. Where has she been all those years? And who with?
　　
　　Returning to the cast this series are Claire Skinner (Outnumbered) who plays Chief Superintendent Ormond and Charlie Chambers (EastEnders) who plays DC Goldie. Bhavik C. Pankhania (World On Fire) joins the line up as DC Lee.
　　
　　The series has been commissioned for ITV by Polly Hill and Huw Kennair Jones and will be produced by Joe Shrubb. Executive producers are Robert Murphy, Damien Timmer and Charlotte Webber. The first film is written by Robert Murphy and directed by Khurrum M. Sultan.

　　Allison is approached by Gary Durant who wants something done about the harassment directed at his elderly father. Someone has been posting videotapes of the old man, now a street person, performing humiliating acts for a few dollars. Both Allison and Bridgette dream about him but are soon having their own 'Freaky Friday' of sorts when they wake up to find that they are inhabiting the other's body. As a result they have an interesting few days where Allison goes to school and Bridgette goes to the office. 　　Brandon Flynn饰演Justin，饰演一个篮球员，有着星级的实力，但亦有星级的自大﹑Christian Navarro饰演Tony，一个孤独的人，不过他会为正确的事站出来﹑Alisha Boe饰演Jessica，Hannah的朋友，直至一次恶性的吵架而分开。
　　Justin Prentice饰演放纵风格的Bryce，有着好看的外貌﹑Devin Druid饰演Tyler，喜欢拿着相机的摄影师﹑Miles Heizer饰演Alex，会自省﹑带艺术气质﹑有丰富情感。Ross Butler饰演Zach。Derek Luke饰演Hannah的辅导员Porter先生。
　　Kate Walsh饰演女主Hannah的妈妈﹑Brian d’Arcy James饰演Hannah的爸爸，是位药剂师，有自己的小生意，但在女儿之死后，他把自己沈醉在工作及保持自己的店子免被竞争对手压垮，并以此逃避丧女的现实。
　　Amy Hargreaves饰演常规角色，男主Clay的母亲Jensen女士，她性格爽朗﹑与儿子关系密切﹑富同情心及关心儿子，不过在Clay口中则称她是「直升机家长」（形容这些家长会像直升机一样，盘旋在子女四周，随时空降帮子女解决问题）。不过这位身为公正的律师，对待儿子时的确少了一份客观。
